Can money buy happiness... or more costly and dangerous problems?
When 13-year-old Tim Parker and his underprivileged buddies have a million dollars dropped in their laps by criminals on the run, it seems like an answer to their prayers. In need of an adult to help them deposit the miracle money without asking too many questions, Tim and his friends enlist the help of Winston Pruitt, the town drunk. But when Winston starts to sober up, he begins not only asking questions but teaching the boys some lessons learned through a turbulent past. Now pursued by crooks and cops alike, the boys soon must ask—can money buy happiness, or only a lot of grief and danger?
